A 46-year-old Auburn man was killed Thursday evening, Sept. 24 after being struck by a train on railroad tracks in Kent, according to the Kent Police Department.
Kent Police officers, Puget Sound Fire crews and King County medics were dispatched at about 6 p.m. Thursday to the BNSF Railway tracks near South 266th Street (map below) following a report that a pedestrian had been struck.
Sadly, first responders found the man dead at the scene, police said.
Initial witness information indicated that the man had been walking north on the northbound tracks. The train conductor sounded the horn and took emergency action to stop, but the collision could not be avoided, according to police.
The identity of the victim will be released by the King County Medical Examiners Office, and Kent Police are investigating the fatality.
