Carmen Goers, Republican candidate for Washington’s 8th Congressional District, conceded the race this week and issued a statement of gratitude to her supporters while urging Rep. Kim Schrier to focus on critical issues such as the cost of living and agricultural policy.

As of Nov. 8, 2024, the results in that race show Goers losing by 28,487 votes/7.68 percent:

CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT 8 – U.S. Representative

Carmen Goers (Prefers Republican Party)
170,632 46.05%

The 8th Congressional District includes the eastern portions of King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties, as well as Chelan and Kittitas counties.

“Thank you to everyone who supported our campaign and believed in our vision to restore the hope and opportunity of the American dream for the next generation,” Goers said. “While the results of this election did not go as we had hoped, I want to encourage Kim Schrier to uphold her campaign statements to address rising costs of living and support our family farms with a modernized Farm Bill.”

Goers emphasized that her campaign was about more than electoral victory, describing it as an effort to listen to the concerns of the community and advocate for local families and businesses.

“I am proud of the work we have done together and the connections we have built,” she added.

Although she won’t be taking office, Goers reaffirmed her commitment to serving the community and encouraged residents to stay engaged and hold their elected representatives accountable.

“Let’s continue to work together to make our community a better place for all,” she concluded.
