The Covington Chamber of Commerce will host a Candidate Forum from 6 – 7 p.m. on Monday night, Sept. 23, 2024 for candidates of the 47th legislative district running in the Nov. 5 General Election.
The public is invited to attend the candidate forum which will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. in the auditorium at Real Life Church at 26201 180th Ave. SE, Covington, WA.
The lobby will open from 5:30 to 6 p.m. for the community to gather; light refreshments will be offered.
The event is free.
For planning purposes, registration is encouraged.
Three of the four legislative candidates have confirmed their attendance at the event. Each candidate will have an opportunity to give a brief introduction at the beginning of the event, followed by a Q&A period moderated by Pat Hanis of Hanis Irvine Prothero PLLC. Hanis will ask questions about where the candidates stand on issues important to businesses and residents in the 47th legislative district.
Candidates include:
- Debra Entenman, candidate for Representative District 47, Position 1 (incumbent)
- Chris Stearns, candidate for Representative District 47, Position 2 (incumbent)
- Ted Cooke, candidate for Representative District 47, Position 2
- Kyle Lyebyedyev, who is also running for position 1, has a scheduling conflict and, at the time of publication, stated he would not be able to attend.
The event is sponsored by the 47th District Republicans and the 47th District Democrats.
Some portions of the church are under construction.
Attendees are asked to park in the field adjacent to the building and to enter through the front door.
