Residents in Kent and nearby communities will have an opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted paint for free at a community recycling event on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025.
The event, held from 9 a.m. to Noon in the student parking lot at Tahoma High School, 23100 SE Bear Blvd. (map below), is sponsored by GreenSheen Paint in partnership with the cities of Maple Valley, Black Diamond, Covington and Enumclaw.
Residents are encouraged to bring latex, oil-based and other household architectural paints for recycling.
Participants are asked to remain in their vehicles as staff direct cars to drop-off lanes, where items will be unloaded for safe handling.
“Spread the word and invite your friends and neighbors to join in,” organizers said. “Together, let’s make a positive impact on our community and the planet. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for this exciting event!”
Accepted materials include interior and exterior paints, primers, stains, varnishes, deck coatings and sealers.
Items not accepted include paint thinners, solvents, automotive and marine paints, caulking compounds and industrial coatings.
Residents can pre-register for a time slot to ensure smooth drop-offs by clicking below:
