The sounds, sights, flavors and soul of the South are returning to downtown Kent as the Kent Downtown Partnership hosts its lively Cajun & Creole Fest on Saturday, Aug. 16, from 2 to 7 p.m. 

The free, family-friendly event will feature live Zydeco and blues music, regional cuisine, and cultural art in a bayou-themed celebration of Southern heritage.

Music Line Up

  • All the way from Louisiana, KDP is excited to welcome Curley Taylor & Zydeco Trouble to the Cajun & Creole Fest Stage.
  • Longtime favorite Bayou Envie returns with their signature energy—get ready to tap your feet and groove to the rhythm.
  • Joining the celebration is Lady A —bring soulful vibes and high energy.
  • American First Corp Band who will kick off the lively 2nd line parade.

Organizers say the event is a chance to immerse the Pacific Northwest in the rich sights and sounds of the Gulf Coast – here’s what to expect:

“Spice up your taste buds and experience the soul of Louisiana in the Pacific Northwest,” KDP said. “Dance, dine, and have a ragin’ Cajun good time where Southern culture and hospitality turn historic downtown Kent into our own ‘Little Louisiana’!”

In addition to music, the event will include local art displays, food trucks serving Cajun and Creole specialties, and a beer garden for adult attendees.

Admission is free and open to all ages.

The Cajun & Creole Fest is supported by a range of sponsors including the City of Kent, 4Culture, Republic Services, KNKX, Seafair, Altha’s Cajun Spices, I Love Kent, and others.
