Detectives with the Kent Police Department are investigating a homicide after a 26-year-old man was fatally stabbed early Saturday, Feb. 7 at a West Hill apartment complex.

Police said that officers were dispatched at 12:34 a.m. to the 25700 block of 27th Place South (map below) after receiving a 911 call reporting an unwanted subject.

The first patrol officer arrived within minutes and found an injured man in a parking lot who was bleeding heavily. Police said the man was conscious but unable to speak. The officer began lifesaving efforts and requested medical aid.

Before medics arrived, the officer located a significant wound to the victim’s torso consistent with a stab wound. The officer attempted to stop the bleeding, including placing a chest seal over the wound.

Medics transported the man to a local hospital, where sadly, he died during surgery.

Officers and detectives interviewed multiple people at the apartment complex. Initial information gathered indicates the stabbing was an isolated incident, police said.
