Puget Sound Fire and South King Fire & Rescue teamed up on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2022 to extinguish a homeless encampment fire in the 24300 block of Pacific Highway South in Kent (map below).

Smoke from the fire could be seen from miles away.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

  1. This is unconscionable, kent and desmoines are at fault. What police didn’t do is missing. When will the cities kent desmoines abd federal way put stringent rules in place, no camping on any land, either move, accept help or get out of wa state and do not return be put on no travel to wa list and enforce rules. All cities gave wasted tax money on homelessness but nothing changes
