Puget Sound Energy is warning customers that a pipeline rupture Tuesday evening (Oct. 9) in British Columbia, Canada, could affect their ability to supply natural gas to customers’ homes and businesses.
“We are asking customers to help conserve natural gas and electricity,” the company said in a statement. “Customers can set their thermostats at a lower setting and limit the use of hot water, such as dishwashing or clothes washing, and other natural gas and electric appliances this morning.”
PSE added:
“It’s important to know that our local gas system is safe and was not damaged by the pipeline failure in Canada. PSE is doing all we can to maintain our natural gas system operations, and we’ll provide updates as we learn more from our supplier.”
