Make Some Noise for the Seattle Thunderbirds Fri., Sept. 30
T-Birds and hockey fans, come to Kent City Hall on Fri. at noon to raise the flag for the Seattle Thunderbirds. Our WHL Western Champions are playing their home opener on Saturday, October 1 at ShoWare Center and we want to show our support. Come on down, make some noise and help us raise the flag!

Kent Police Department to Host Community Meeting Oct. 5
Join Kent Police Chief Ken Thomas and members of the command staff and neighborhood response team at a community meeting on Oct. 5 to get assigned sector updates, learn more about a crime scene drone, and get a chance to ask questions. The meeting is Wed., Oct. 5 from 7 to 9 PM at Totem Middle School, 26630 40th Ave. S.
Kent Celebrates New Salmon “Rest Stop” on Oct. 6
The City of Kent and partners will celebrate the completion of the Mill Creek Side Channel at the Leber Homestead, 7080 S. 262nd St. from 10 AM – Noon on Thurs., Oct. 6. The public is invited. The project will improve salmon habitat and reduce flooding in the Green River and surrounding agricultural areas.
Fall Recycling Event: Sat., Oct. 15
The City of Kent’s Fall Recycling Collection event is set for Sat., Oct. 15 at Hogan Park, 24400 Russell Road, Kent, from 9 AM to 3 PM. Mayor Cooke Submits Balanced Budget to Kent City Council
On Tuesday, Kent Mayor Suzette Cooke presented her proposed 2017-18 budget to the Kent City Council. Residents are invited to attend a public hearing on Tues., Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. in Kent City Council Chambers at City House. Learn more at KentWA.gov/Budget.

Developer Conducting Testing of Riverbend Par 3 Property
FNW Inc./Landmark Development Group (FNW) has done geotechnical testing and survey work of the Riverbend Gold Course Par 3 property. The city has agreed to sell the property, and pending the test results, FNW may be the new buyer. Any sale proceeds would be used to eliminate the golf fund debt and make capital improvements throughout the golf complex.
