Kent Chamber to host debate for City and County Council candidates on Thursday, Oct. 23

The Kent Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a high-impact debate event from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, featuring candidates running for key local races: 

• Kent City Council (2 open seats)
• King County Council District 5

With six candidates participating, this moderated debate led by Carmen Goers, Government Affairs Chair for the Kent Chamber, will give our business community an inside look at the future leadership of our city and county.

This is more than just politics – it’s about the future of business in Kent. Decisions made in the last legislative session, and those coming up, will shape the success of our city for years to come.

“We need leaders who understand that our business community thrives in a safe, innovative, and tax-friendly environment,” the chamber said in a statement. “Join us to hear directly from the candidates, ask the tough questions, and ensure your voice is part of the conversation.”
