A Kent Police officer spotted and arrested a 32-year-old Seattle man wanted in a string of armed robberies and the theft of emergency rescue equipment, authorities said.

Police said that on Monday, Aug. 11, 2025, Kent’s Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) was briefed that Centralia Police were searching for a suspect in multiple armed casino robberies.

The man was also accused of stealing the “Jaws of Life” from a Riverside Fire Authority truck, police said.

The FBI joined the investigation since some robberies occurred on tribal land.

Kent officers were told to be on the lookout for a dark green Toyota Solara connected to the suspect. By early evening, CRU Officer Burns spotted the vehicle downtown near West Smith Street.

“At 7:10 p.m., Officer Burns located the suspect driving the Solara,” the department said in a statement. “Officers Burns and Kinney conducted a high-risk stop, pinned the vehicle, and detained him without incident.”

Police said a passenger, a 55-year-old Renton man, was also arrested for possession of controlled substances and for carrying a spring-loaded knife. The car was seized as evidence.

Centralia detectives served a search warrant on the vehicle, recovering the stolen Jaws of Life, a gun, and additional evidence. Investigators later learned the suspect was also linked to a bank robbery in Shoreline just hours before the arrest.

Kent Police credited teamwork for the arrest.

“Great collaboration between Kent PD, Centralia PD, and the FBI to locate and find this armed robbery suspect and get him off our streets,” police said.
