Kent Police are investigating the death of a 56-year-old resident who died from injuries sustained during an assault on Aug. 22, 2024.
Police said that at 9:04 p.m. that evening, officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting an attack near a residential area.
Witnesses described a group of three to four juveniles assaulting the victim, who was on a bicycle.
One witness attempted to stop the attack by honking their car horn, but the juveniles continued to beat the victim until he lost consciousness.
By the time officers arrived, the suspects had fled the scene.
Puget Sound Fire provided aid to the victim, who had diminished consciousness. He was transported to a local hospital in stable condition, but experienced a rapid deterioration in health over the following weeks.
Tragically, the victim passed away on Sept. 8 due to injuries sustained during the assault.

The Kent Police Department is actively pursuing leads and has urged the community to come forward with any information that could assist the investigation.
