Kent Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a motorcyclist who fled from an officer while driving recklessly Tuesday afternoon on the West Hill.

The incident occurred around 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, when an officer observed a rider on a black motorcycle operating in an unsafe manner before turning northbound onto Pacific Highway South from South 272nd Street, according to police.

Police said the motorcycle did not have a license plate and that the rider attempted to evade contact by turning into a parking lot in the 27000 block of Pacific Highway South. When the officer activated emergency lights, the rider fled northbound on Pacific Highway South.

The motorcyclist was last seen traveling at a high rate of speed and running a red light at the South 260th Street intersection, police said.

“I look like I’m in my 40s,” police said. “If you know who I am, the officer would like to speak to me about my reckless driving and disregard for the safety of other motorists.”

Kent Police are asking anyone with information about the rider’s identity to contact investigators by emailing KPDTipLine@kentwa.gov or calling the non emergency dispatch line at (253) 852-2121. Officials said people should call 911 if the situation is urgent or if someone is in immediate danger.
