A 26-year-old Kent man was shot and killed Sunday evening, Oct. 26, 2025 at an apartment complex on South 233rd Place, Kent Police said.
Detectives are investigating whether two other gunshot victims who arrived later at Valley Medical Center are connected to the incident.
Police said officers were dispatched at 6:13 p.m. Sunday night after multiple 911 callers reported hearing gunfire and seeing a person down in the parking lot of a complex in the 6000 block of South 233rd Place (map below). Officers and medics arrived within minutes and found the man unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.
A loaded 9mm handgun was located near the victim and secured by officers. Police later confirmed the gun was registered to the deceased, according to the department.
About 40 minutes after officers arrived, dispatchers notified police that two 23-year-old patients had checked in at Valley Medical Center with gunshot wounds. Detectives are working to determine whether the two cases are related. Their medical conditions were not available Monday morning.
Kent Police detectives continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information to call the Kent Police Tip Line at 253-856-5808 or email KPDTipLine@kentwa.gov. Those with urgent information should call 911.
