Volunteers and donations needed, spread the word

Because of the weather forecast, the City of Kent has activated the Severe Weather Shelter at Kent Lutheran Church (336 2nd Ave S, Kent, WA 98032), Monday through Thursday nights this week.

Monday: the shelter will remain open after the Monday Night Supper
Tuesday: dinner to be served around 7:30 PM
Wednesday: same as Tuesday
Thursday: the shelter will remain open after the dinner provided by Willows Place

Volunteers are needed to:

  • Serve and/or bring dinner Tues. and Wed. night
  • Serve and/or bring breakfast each morning
  • Wash linens each day – pillow cases and blankets

Donations are also needed:

  • Lunch snacks (fruit, small oranges, juice boxes, small bottles of water, etc.), milk and bread
  • Socks
  • Gloves
  • Hand warmers
  • Meals that can be frozen for the future (e.g., chili, tuna casserole, tater tot casserole, lasagna, baked spaghetti, breakfast casseroles)
