King County Councilmember Dave Upthegrove recently helped award $5,000 to Minority Veterans of America, a group that builds safe, inclusive and equitable communities for minority veterans in South King County and beyond.
“At this moment in our nation’s history, it is more important than ever to recognize that all people should have the opportunity to serve our country and be respected regardless of their race, religion, gender, and sexual orientation,” Upthegrove said in a statement.
“I recently got to celebrate the Minority Veterans of America, an organization working toward this vision for the future. With funding from the King County Councill, Minority Veterans of America will continue to build safe, inclusive and equitable communities for minority veterans in South King County and beyond.”
