Meet (and adopt) Alaska, RASKC’s Pet of the Week:

Alaska is a 5-year-old female German Shepherd mix who is looking for her forever home.
At the shelter, Alaska has been a pretty independent dog who likes to do her own thing. She came in with an uncomfortable skin infection, so sometimes pets make her nervous, but she is quickly learning they aren’t so bad now that she is starting to feel better!
Because of her shy nature, Alaska would thrive in a calm, quiet home without young children. Alaska seems to do well with other large dogs who are gentle and easy-going. Alaska would not do well with energetic dogs with rowdy playstyles. A slow introduction to any new dogs is always best!
A gentle and loving girl who likes to take things slow, Alaska may get nervous in new situations so is looking for a family who understands that she might take some time to warm up. Once she gets to know you, she will be a very devoted friend.
Alaska is around 60 pounds, spayed, current on vaccinations, and microchipped! Her adoption comes with many benefits in addition to the love and snuggles she will give, including 30 days of opt-in health insurance through Trupanion and a discount on training through GoodPup.
As Pet of the Week, Alaska’s adoption fee has been reduced!
If you and your family are ready to fall in love with this sweet, gentle girl, come see Alaska today! You can visit RASKC on weekdays from Noon to 5 p.m. and weekends from Noon to 4 p.m.
