Meet (and adopt) Calvin, RASKC’s Pet of the Week:
Calvin (formerly known as Cactus) is a 2-year-old male German Shepherd who arrived at RASKC at the beginning of April.
Calvin is an affectionate lovebug who would be thrilled to snuggle with you at home on the bed or the couch, he would just be happy to be there! He loves scratches and petting and is he is incredibly kind.
On top of being sweet, Calvin is also full of energy. He loves to play outside, go on walks, and run in the yard! Playing with toys and exploring are two things he loves to do and keep him busy. With dogs like Calvin, it is always helpful to have things for him to do. Cognitive toys like kongs, lick mats, and puzzle toys are great! He also loves stuffed animals, bones, and rope toys. He tends to calm down more when the people around him stay calm. Calvin would do best when he has lots of exercise and something to keep his mind busy.
Calvin’s caregivers think he is a little shy. This may be his personality but could also be the shelter atmosphere. Because of his shy nature, Calvin would do best in a calm, quiet home which will help him come out of his shell when he feels safe and comfortable.
Calvin is a gentle and loving dog who likes to take things slow. He may get nervous in new situations, so is looking for a family who understands that he may take some time to warm up. Once he gets to know you, he will be a very devoted friend!
Calvin is 89 pounds, neutered, current on vaccinations, and microchipped! His adoption comes with many benefits in addition to the love and snuggles he will give, including a King County pet license (if applicable) and a $40 credit for training through Rover.
As Pet of the Week, Calvin’s adoption fee has been reduced.
