A motorcyclist was ejected and injured in a crash Sunday morning, Oct. 13, 2024 on SR 167 near the I-405 interchange, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The incident occurred around 9:38 a.m. Sunday morning when the rider of a 2019 Suzuki SV650 was traveling southbound in the HOV lane, lost control and collided with the left-side barrier.

The motorcyclist, identified as 23-year-old Chandler Alexander of Renton, was ejected upon impact.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene, and Alexander was transported to Harborview Medical Center with injuries. He was reported to have been wearing a USDOT-compliant helmet at the time of the crash.

The roadway was blocked for approximately 1-hour and 12-minutes as crews worked to clear the scene.

Authorities stated that no drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash, which remains under investigation.
