A suspect was arrested Wednesday afternoon, June 25, 2025 after allegedly firing multiple rounds at another vehicle on northbound I-5 near SR 516, according to the Washington State Patrol.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

The shooting occurred just before 1 p.m. Wednesday, prompting an immediate response from law enforcement.

Witnesses provided crucial information that, combined with license plate reader data from the FLOCK camera system, led deputies to the suspect’s vehicle—a black Chevrolet Equinox at nearby Angle Lake Park in SeaTac.

Deputies detained multiple individuals at the scene, and one was positively identified as the shooter.

Several handguns were recovered during the arrest, police said.

The suspect is expected to be booked into King County Jail.

“Sincere thanks to the witnesses and the King County Sheriff’s Office,” Trooper Rick Johnson said, emphasizing the role of community members in helping to quickly locate the suspect.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
