Firefighters responded to two large fires in the region on Wednesday morning, including a 2-alarm warehouse fire in the 20400 block of 80th Ave South and a separate commercial fire in the 22500 block of 83rd Ave South, according to Puget Sound Fire.
Puget Sound Fire and Renton Regional Fire Authority crews were on scene at the warehouse fire when firefighters from Puget Sound Fire, Valley Regional Fire Authority, Renton Regional Fire Authority and South King Fire and Rescue responded to the second fire.
Officials said that at the second commercial fire on 83rd Ave South, the building’s fire protection sprinkler system controlled the fire, and firefighters quickly extinguished it.
Kent Police were already at the location when the second fire was reported and safely evacuated two people, the agency said.
Eight people were evaluated by firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics. One person was transported to a nearby hospital, according to Puget Sound Fire.
Firefighters also administered oxygen to a rescued dog.
The cause of the commercial fire remains under investigation. No further details were provided.
