UPDATE 4:20 p.m. Jan. 9, 2018: Tukwila Police have re-opened Southcenter Blvd., and are reporting that the ‘suspicious device’ found at a bus shelter was actually a rice cooker:
The suspicious object was a rice cooker left at the bus shelter. It was opened remotely by the Port of Seattle Bomb Squad. Southcenter Blvd will be reopening to normal traffic shortly. pic.twitter.com/zeykNw45r9

Shortly after 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9, Tukwila Police announced that they have closed Southcenter Blvd. in both directions between the 6100-6500 blocks (map below), due to the finding of a ‘suspicious item’ at a bus shelter.
Tukwila City Hall is located at 6200 Southcenter Blvd.
