Burien Police/King County Sheriff’s Office are reporting that on Friday, Jan. 26, just after midnight, a deputy on patrol ran a license plate on a 1996 Honda Accord and it came back stolen.
Police say that the driver did not stop when the deputy turned on his emergency lights, and soon the deputy lost sight of the car.
Near the 10500 block of 12th Ave SW (map below), the deputy came upon the vehicle in some bushes. A K-9 searched the area as well as the Guardian 1 helicopter. K-9 tracked to an area where Guardian 1 could see a subject hiding via FLIR (Forward Looking InfraRed). The K-9 deputy ordered the subject to surrender, which he did.
The suspect, a 39-year old Kent man, was arrested and booked for Investigation of Possession of Stolen Property 2.
