Kent Police are again asking for the public’s help to identify a man who allegedly stole a vehicle with two children inside in March 2023, injuring a toddler in the process.
Police said the suspect stole the car around 7 a.m. on March 1, 2023, from a home in the 20800 block of 110th Avenue SE (map below).
A mother was loading her four children into the vehicle when the man ran up, jumped into the driver’s seat and sped off.
As he drove away, one of the unbuckled car seats was ejected, tossing a 2-year-old boy onto the ground. Police said the child suffered injuries that were not severe. His twin brother and their 8-year-old sister remained in the car as the suspect fled.
The man dropped the two children off in a nearby neighborhood a short time later and has not been seen since.
“Despite intense efforts to find him, he was not located,” Kent Police said in a statement.
Detectives have conducted extensive forensic work and followed up on all leads, but the man’s identity still remains unknown.
