A 37-year-old woman died Friday evening, Dec. 26 after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a roadway in Kent, according to the Kent Police Department.

Kent patrol officers responded just before 5 p.m. Friday to a car versus pedestrian collision at the intersection of 108th Avenue SE and SE 224th Street (map below).

Officers arrived to find an adult female unconscious and not breathing, police said.

Officers began CPR and were later assisted by Puget Sound Fire personnel. The woman was revived and transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

Sadly, she later passed from her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.

Initial information indicated the pedestrian was crossing 108th Avenue SE westbound and was not in a crosswalk when she was struck by a white SUV traveling southbound on 108th Avenue SE. The driver, a 55-year-old woman, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Police said neither speed nor intoxication appear to be factors in the collision. Kent traffic investigators were called to complete the investigation.
