Kent residents will have a chance to meet local police officers in a casual setting during the department’s next “Hops & Cops” event on Wednesday, Nov. 5.

The gathering will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at the newly opened Riverbend Bar and Grill, located at 2019 West Meeker Street (map below).

The event is designed to give community members an opportunity to talk with Kent police employees in an informal atmosphere over food and drinks.

Kent Police said they hope residents will stop by, ask questions, and share concerns or ideas while getting to know the officers who serve their community.

The department regularly hosts events such as “Coffee with the Chief” and “Hops and Cops” to help build trust and open communication between officers and the public.

NOTE: “Alcohol will not be provided by us but we will provide the water and snacks/appetizers,” police said, and you must be 21+ older.

“Kent PD will not be drinking alcohol during the event.”
