The King County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified Jessie David Webber, 23, as the man killed in a shooting Tuesday, Sept. 15, at the Kent-Des Moines Park and Ride.
Webber died from multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s findings. The office listed the incident location as the outdoor park and ride near South 234th Street and Military Road South in Kent.
As we previously reported, Kent officers responded at 6:07 p.m. Tuesday night to the park and ride at 23405 Military Road South after 911 callers reported gunfire and a man on the ground.
Officers began lifesaving efforts, which Puget Sound Fire personnel and King County medics continued.
Sadly, Webber died at the scene.
In their initial account, police said witnesses reported that one or more suspects had fled but could not provide descriptions or vehicle information. Police said preliminary information indicated the shooting was not random.
A second report of gunfire came shortly after 8 p.m. near Kent-Des Moines Road and Pacific Highway South. Officers found spent cartridge casings near a restaurant but no indication anyone had been struck.
As of Tuesday night, detectives did not have enough information to determine whether the incidents were connected.
