Kent Police will collect unused or expired medications during a free Drug Take Back Day event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Kent Police Department headquarters (map below).

The collection is part of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s nationwide effort. Drop-offs are anonymous, with no questions asked, according to the department’s event announcement.

“Drive up & drop it off!” Kent police said.

Weather permitting, the collection will take place at the turnout in front of the police department on Fourth Avenue South. Attendees should follow posted signs.

If rain or wind requires moving the event indoors, staff will collect medications in the Kent City Hall parking garage, with entrances off Gowe or Titus streets, police said.

For questions about the event or which items are accepted, contact Stacy Judd at sjudd@kentwa.gov or 253-856-5883.
