The Kent Police Department is partnering with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to participate in the nationwide Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., community members can safely dispose of any unused or expired medications at the Kent Police Department, located at 232 4th Ave. S. (map below).
The event is free and anonymous, with no questions asked.
The initiative aims to prevent potential misuse or abuse of medications that are often left unsecured in home cabinets. Properly disposing of unused prescriptions helps protect families and the community from the dangers of drug diversion.
The drop-off site will be set up outside the police department headquarters.
For more information on what medications can and cannot be accepted, visit Kent Police Department’s website or the event’s Facebook page.
