The Kent Arts Commission is inviting Artists to submit responses to a Call for Artists for a public art project at Morrill Meadows Park on Kent’s East Hill (map below).

The selected artist will create “Parcourse Stations” for various locations along a new loop trail. The opportunity is open to professional public artists residing in Washington State. Applicants must have prior public art experience.

The City of Kent is currently in the design phase for renovation of Morrill Meadows Park, 10600 SE 248th St. The project will expand the park, as well as, in partnership with the YMCA of Greater Seattle, build the city’s first YMCA. Part of the park renovation will include adding parcourse stations to various locations along a new loop trail. While there are off-the-shelf parcourse stations available for purchase, it is the City’s desire to create a series of functional artworks that can both be enjoyed as visual amenities and used as part of a fitness routine. The selected artist will design, fabricate, and oversee installation of five freestanding parcourse pieces.

The artist will be selected through a competitive process. The following materials are required of all participants: Artist/artist team profile, statement of interest, work samples (up to 10), work sample descriptions, and resume. The City of Kent is utilizing one of 4Culture’s on-line application portals. For more information, and to apply, visit
