A pursuit involving a stolen vehicle linked to a recent burglary in Kent ended in Federal Way early on Wednesday July 10, 2024, after the suspect crashed into a retaining wall.

The incident began when a Des Moines Police Officer observed the stolen vehicle traveling northbound on Pacific Highway South. The officer followed the vehicle as it merged onto I-5 southbound, maintaining surveillance while coordinating with other units.

The pursuit intensified as officers attempted to stop the vehicle, which continued to evade law enforcement. The chase, spanning several miles, culminated in Federal Way when the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with a retaining wall.

Following the collision, the driver was apprehended and treated for minor injuries sustained in the crash. The stolen vehicle, significantly damaged from the impact, was turned over to Kent Police for further processing.

Authorities confirmed that multiple felony charges are pending against the driver, whose identity has not been released. Charges are expected to include vehicle theft and eluding police.

No other vehicles or individuals were involved in the pursuit or the crash, and there were no reported injuries to bystanders or officers.
