Fire crews from Puget Sound Fire and South King Fire & Rescue responded Saturday, July 5, 2025 to a large vehicle and equipment fire in the 35000 block of Frager Road in Kent (map below), with support from a Port of Seattle Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) unit.
According to the incident report, emergency crews were sent to the vehicle fire at 5:30 p.m.
The blaze engulfed multiple trucks and heavy equipment, and firefighters were able to extinguish the flames without injury to the public or any first responders.
King County Sheriff’s Office fire investigators were called to the scene to determine the cause.
In a poignant moment, Puget Sound Fire shared that as crews approached a scorched flagpole to take down what they believed was a melted flag, the banner unexpectedly unfurled and began to wave in the sunlight.
Crews remained on site for several hours to complete overhaul and ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
No further details were immediately available regarding the origin or extent of the damage.
