Kent Police on Monday, Oct. 7 arrested a 29-year-old woman in connection with a stabbing that occurred on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024.
The arrest was made after a thorough investigation by Kent Police detectives and multiple law enforcement units.
The incident began at 4:06 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024, when Kent patrol officers were dispatched to a residence in the 23600 block of 126th Ave South after a 911 call from a 42-year-old man who reported that he had been stabbed inside his home by an unknown female.
Responding officers found the victim outside his residence and immediately began lifesaving measures along with Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority paramedics. The man, who had sustained multiple stab wounds, was transported to a local hospital where, despite the severity of his injuries, he survived.
Kent detectives launched an investigation and identified the suspect as a 29-year-old Kent resident. On Oct. 7, 2024, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Kent detectives, assisted by members of the Special Investigations Unit, Crime Reduction Unit, and Valley SWAT, conducted surveillance on the suspect and located her traveling in her vehicle.
After the suspect returned to her residence, officers surrounded the area and used loudspeaker announcements to urge her to exit the home. However, it was soon determined that the suspect had fled on foot prior to officers’ arrival. A search of the area was conducted, and the woman was apprehended without incident shortly afterward.
The investigation is ongoing, with Kent detectives continuing to collect evidence and determine the circumstances leading up to the assault.
“We would like to thank the King County Sheriff’s Office K9 team and Guardian 1 for their assistance,” Kent Police said.
