A 36-year-old Federal Way man was arrested early Friday, Jan. 17, 2025, in connection with a December shooting outside a Kent bar, police said.

The arrest stems from a Dec. 22 altercation in the parking lot of Action Sports Bar and Grill, located at 25626 102nd Place SE, where a 34-year-old Kent man was shot in the leg.

Officers responded shortly after midnight that night to reports of a shooting, and found the victim with a gunshot wound to his upper right thigh, police said.

Witnesses reported that the altercation involved a group of six to nine people who appeared to know each other. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Following an investigation led by Detective Nick Grave and the Kent Police Major Crimes and Special Investigations units, the suspect was taken into custody Friday morning at his residence with assistance from the Valley SWAT team, police said.

The arrest occurred without incident, and the man was booked into the King County Regional Justice Center.

“Locating and arresting violent offenders remains the top priority for the Kent Police Department,” police said in a statement. “Today’s arrest is another example of how our incredibly skilled investigators and officers are relentlessly working to remove violent offenders from our community and bring justice to the victims and their families.”
