The Kent Police Department is inviting residents to learn how forming a Block Watch can help reduce crime and strengthen community safety at a meeting on Tuesday night, Mar. 11, 2025, from 6:30–8 p.m.
This free, open event will be held at Kent City Hall.
The department’s Community Education Unit and Neighborhood Response Team will host this meeting to discuss the benefits of neighborhood Block Watches, current crime trends, and strategies residents can use to prevent crime in their area.
According to law enforcement officials, Block Watch programs have been proven to deter criminal activity and increase neighborhood security.
“This is a great opportunity to make connections with your neighbors and the Kent Police Department,” police said in a statement.
