Kent Police are investigating after a 20-year-old Kent man was fatally struck by a train Saturday afternoon, July 11 near South 259th Street and the Burlington Northern railroad tracks (map below).
Police said that officers responded at about 2:55 p.m. on July 11 to reports of a pedestrian who had been struck by a train near South 259th Street and the Burlington Northern tracks.
When officers arrived, they found the 20 year old man, who sadly was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The investigation remained active Saturday afternoon, and police said motorists should expect traffic impacts in the area while the investigation continues.
