Bring recyclables to Kent Phoenix Academy Saturday
On Saturday, June 3 (9 AM to 3 PM), the City of Kent is hosting its annual summer Recycling Collection event at Kent Phoenix Academy (11000 SE 264th St., Kent, WA).
Items that will be accepted include:
- Appliances and scrap metal
- Toilets and sinks
- Electronics
- Cardboard
- Batteries
- Lead acid batteries
- Propane tanks
- Bulky yard debris
- Scrap wood
- Reusable household goods
- Document shredding (limit of 3 file-size boxes per vehicle)
- Concrete, asphalt, rock, brick and sand
- Mattresses
Items that will NOT be accepted include:
- Tires
- Construction and demolition debris
- Motor oil, filters, antifreeze, petroleum-based products
- Styrofoam
- Plastic
- Grass, leaves or small yard debris
- Paint, solvents and thinners
- Cleaning products
- Pesticides and herbicides
- Household chemicals
- Fluorescent lights

In addition to recycling, the city will be selling compost bins for $25 each (cash only, first come, first served) for backyard composting. Supplies are limited.
