Bring recyclables to Kent Phoenix Academy Saturday

On Saturday, June 3 (9 AM to 3 PM), the City of Kent is hosting its annual summer Recycling Collection event at Kent Phoenix Academy (11000 SE 264th St., Kent, WA).

Items that will be accepted include:

  • Appliances and scrap metal
  • Toilets and sinks
  • Electronics
  • Cardboard
  • Batteries
  • Lead acid batteries
  • Propane tanks
  • Bulky yard debris
  • Scrap wood
  • Reusable household goods
  • Document shredding (limit of 3 file-size boxes per vehicle)
  • Concrete, asphalt, rock, brick and sand
  • Mattresses

Items that will NOT be accepted include:

  • Tires
  • Construction and demolition debris
  • Motor oil, filters, antifreeze, petroleum-based products
  • Styrofoam
  • Plastic
  • Grass, leaves or small yard debris
  • Paint, solvents and thinners
  • Cleaning products
  • Pesticides and herbicides
  • Household chemicals
  • Fluorescent lights

In addition to recycling, the city will be selling compost bins for $25 each (cash only, first come, first served) for backyard composting. Supplies are limited.
