Meet Anita, RASKC’s Pet of the Week:

Anita is a two-year-old female who was brought into RASKC by a good Samaritan in September. The shelter staff aren’t completely sure, but they believe Anita is an Akita mix.

Still on the young side, Anita weighs 54 pounds and is considered a large breed dog. She is a very smart dog! At the shelter she is practicing how to “sit,” “stay,” “come,” “down,” and “shake.”

Anita is an affectionate lovebug who would be thrilled to cuddle up with you at home but also has an independent side and likes to do her own thing! She is full of energy and loves to play! She will do best with lots of exercise and something to keep her mind busy. Her caregivers have noticed that Anita seems to do well with other large dogs.

Anita is spayed, current on vaccinations, and microchipped!

Her adoption comes with many benefits in addition to the love and snuggles she will give, including 30 days of opt-in health insurance through Trupanion and a discount on training through GoodPup.

If you are looking for an energetic girl to add to your family, Anita may be the one for you! Visit Anita at RASKC weekdays from Noon to 5 p.m. and weekends from Noon to 4 p.m.

NOTE: Now through Dec. 31, 2024, there is NO adoption fee for dogs at RASKC! Licensing fees may still apply.
