Kent Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old Federal Way man early Saturday morning, June 7, 2025 during a birthday party at a home in the 25000 block of 22nd Avenue South.
Officers were dispatched just after 12:30 a.m. following multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire and a victim down outside the residence.
By the time police arrived, the suspects had fled and the victim had already been transported to a hospital in Federal Way by people at the scene.
According to preliminary information, the shooting occurred during a celebration for the victim’s 21st birthday. Police said that uninvited individuals reportedly arrived at the party, prompting a confrontation. An argument escalated into a physical fight, during which shots were fired. The victim was struck, retreated inside the home and collapsed.
Sadly, he later died at the hospital from his injuries.
Kent Police detectives processed the scene, interviewed witnesses, and are continuing to gather evidence.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
No arrests had been made as of Saturday afternoon.
