UPDATE: Thanks to the hard work of Des Moines Police officers and detectives, and with the assistance of the Bonney Lake and Sumner Police Departments, Jason Russell Foster was taken into custody Saturday evening, Mar. 1, 2025 without incident.

He will be booked into the King County Jail.

As we previously reported, Des Moines Police established probable cause for the arrest of Foster on multiple counts of felony assault following a violent attack Friday morning, Feb. 28, 2025.

Police said that at approximately 6:47 a.m. Friday morning they responded to a 911 call reporting that a male, later identified as Jason Foster, had entered a home and pistol-whipped two adults. Two children were inside the home at the time of the incident but were not harmed. One victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The victims reported they had hired Foster for construction work at the home, and the attack was random and unprovoked.

Law enforcement agencies, including Tukwila Police, Kent Police, and the King County Sheriff’s Office, conducted an extensive search using a K9 unit, drone, and helicopter, but Foster was not initially located.
