King County Prosecutors have filed charges in three additional cases related to the July 16, 2024 homicide of a 13-year-old boy and the robbery of a 15-year-old.
The charges, filed on Thursday, July 30, come after referrals from Kent Police.
Case 24-1-03548-2:
A 20-year-old defendant is charged with:
- Murder in the First Degree with a firearm enhancement
- Robbery in the First Degree with a firearm enhancement
The defendant, initially referred to as a 19-year-old, turned 20 since his first appearance. He is being held on $2 million bail and will be arraigned at 9 a.m. on August 12 in the GA courtroom of the MRJC in Kent. There are no prior cases involving this defendant referred to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office (KCPAO).
Case 24-1-03546-6:
A 17-year-old defendant is charged with:
- Murder in the First Degree with a firearm enhancement
- Robbery in the First Degree with a firearm enhancement
- Unlawful Possession of a Firearm in the Second Degree
Charged as an adult and held on $2 million bail, this defendant will also be arraigned at 9 a.m. on August 12 in the GA courtroom of the MRJC in Kent. There are no prior cases involving this defendant referred to the KCPAO.
Case 24-1-03547-4:
A 16-year-old defendant is charged with:
- Murder in the First Degree with a firearm enhancement
- Robbery in the First Degree with a firearm enhancement
This defendant, charged as an adult and held on $2 million bail, did not have a first appearance; the case is being direct-filed. His arraignment, which will be his first appearance, is scheduled for 9 a.m. on August 12 in the GA courtroom of the MRJC in Kent. There are no prior cases involving this defendant referred to the KCPAO.
Case 24-1-04854-1:
An 18-year-old defendant, previously charged on July 23, faces charges of:
- Murder in the First Degree with a firearm enhancement
- Robbery in the First Degree with a firearm enhancement
This defendant, held on $2 million bail, has a previous pre-trial diversion for a misdemeanor Assault in the Fourth Degree involving a fellow student. His arraignment is set for 9 a.m. on August 5 in the GA courtroom of the MRJC in Kent.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
