And the primary winners are…

Today King County Elections certified the winners in the August 1, 2017 primary election. Total voter turnout was 34 percent. The Kent candidates moving onto the November 1 general election are:

  • Kent Mayor: Jim Berrios and Dana Ralph
  • Kent City Council, position 2: Paul Addis and Satwinder Kaur
  • Kent City Council, position 4: Toni Troutner and Tye Whitfield
  • Kent School District, Director, District No. 4: Denise Daniels and Bryon Madsen

Kent City Council, position 6, is also up for re-election this fall, but there were only two candidates, so the candidates did not compete in the primary. Incumbent Brenda Fincher will run against Russ Hanscom to retain her seat.
