After nearly 22 years of owning the Golden Steer Steak ‘n Rib house (and being only the second owners in its 56-year history), Jim and Suzanne Berrios announced this week that they have sold the restaurant.
The new owners will be the Royal Punjabis Group, who will officially take the operation over on Oct. 1. The group is comprised of local business owners who have managed and operated a number of convenience stores, and restaurants throughout the state, and an accounting firm in Kent.
“Suzanne and I are extremely excited to sell to these individuals as they have decided to keep the menu and the concept the same,” Jim said in a statement. “As a matter of fact, they will be hiring all of our current employees.”
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Berrios are unable to have a proper goodbye party to personally thank all their customers for many years of support. However, they will be at the restaurant next Saturday and Sunday between 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. so that they can say farewell.
Berrios also announced that he and Suzanne are planning to initially “take some time off and spend some valuable time with our family.”
“We are still young(ish) and still may decide to pursue a new endeavor sometime in the future,” Berrios added. “Again, thank you all for your support and allowing us to serve you, our friends, neighbors and community.”
The Golden Steer is located at 23826 104th Ave SE:
