The King County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified Ali Abdi Dahir and Abdiqadir Abdiqadir, both 20, as the two men killed in a shooting Monday, Sept. 28, near the I-5 overpass on South 272nd Street in Kent.

As we previously reported, both men sadly died from multiple gunshot wounds, and their deaths were ruled homicides.

Kent and Des Moines Police responded about 10:43 a.m. Monday morning after multiple 911 callers reported gunfire on Kent’s West Hill.

Witnesses told police a dark sedan pulled alongside the men’s vehicle and someone inside fired multiple rounds. The sedan fled and was last seen heading south on I-5, police said.

“Initial information indicates that this was not a random act of violence and the shooting appears to have been targeted,” Kent Police said.

Officers removed the victims from their vehicle to provide medical aid, but sadly, both died at the scene despite emergency treatment.

The medical examiner’s records list the Kent Police Department as the investigating agency.

Police asked anyone with information to call the Kent Police Tip Line at 253-856-5808 or email KPDTipLine@kentwa.gov. Urgent tips should be reported by calling 911.

Everyone at South King Media extends their deepest sympathies to all who knew and loved Ali and Abdiqadir.
