UPDATE OCT. 22, 2024: Auburn Police, in coordination with the FBI, have arrested a 24-year-old suspect in Texas in connection with the disappearance of Jackelin Perez, a 21-year-old pregnant woman who has been missing from Auburn since Oct. 13, 2024.
As The Auburn Examiner previously reported, police believe Perez was taken from her home under duress, and police have classified her disappearance as suspicious.
Jackelin Perez, originally from Guatemala and six weeks pregnant, has not been seen since the evening of Oct. 13. Her husband reported her missing, and Auburn Police have been working with various agencies to track leads.
The suspect arrested in Texas is believed to be involved, and law enforcement officials are actively seeking additional individuals connected to the case.
The Auburn Police Department is asking the public for assistance in finding Perez and locating others involved in her disappearance.
