REMINDER: Calling all Volunteers – the Kent Downtown Partnership (KDP) is looking for individuals, families, and groups who can help with trash/recycle pickup, weeding, vegetation control/trimming, and more at the Fall ‘TeamUp2CleanUp’ event this Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021.

Volunteers can clean one of three locations: East Hill, Downtown or the West Hill, or choose their own from 9 a.m. – Noon.

KDP will be focusing on the Downtown Kent area.

    • KDP Volunteers should meet at 307 W. Gowe Street at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18
    • The event will run from 9 a.m. – Noon.
    • Social distancing protocols will be required.
    • Bring your mask; garden gloves encouraged if you have a pair.
    • KDP will supply tools/equipment, disposable gloves, and a few pairs of garden gloves to loan.
    • All activities will be outdoors, with plenty of space for social distancing.

  1. Kent should have a full time sanitation crew keeping the downtown core from at least Washington Ave through Central Ave clean. And they should have municipal waste bins throughout the area to receive garbage. Also, actual code enforcement willing to fine businesses that do not keep their properties litter free. We could do so much better.
