KSD and KCLS help feed Kent kids this summer.

Proper nutrition for growing kids and teens is important year-round, but not every child has access to healthy lunches during the summer. The Kent School District and other area organizations are working to change that. Here are several local meal programs for kids and teens 18 and under. Note: Different locations serve meals at different dates and times.

Kent School District

Kent School District Nutrition Services has partnered with Washington State Superintendent of Public Instruction and the U.S. Department of Agriculture to provide meals this summer. Nearly 40 parks, schools, learning centers and apartment complexes in Kent are participating. Click here to download a flyer with locations, dates and times, subject to change.

Kent Library

The Kent Library, part of the King County Library System, is also participating in a free lunch program this summer in partnership with Food Lifeline and United Way AmeriCorps members. Visit the Kent Library’s calendar online for dates and times.

If you know of other free lunch programs, please email us, so we can add them to the list, and please help us share this information with Kent families who might benefit from the free summer lunch program. Thank you.
