On Thursday, July 25, the Kent Police Department announced that they think this week’s two fatal train accidents were not likely accidents.
Kent Police continue to assist BNSF Railroad Investigators with the investigation of these two separate fatal collisions involving pedestrians in the past two days.
“Preliminary evidence strongly suggests these tragic events were most likely suicides,” police said.
Kent Police investigators said that both areas where the two men crossed have working and functional crossing arms to prevent vehicles and pedestrians from crossing the tracks. The tracks are also posted with “No Trespassing” signs.
Investigators identified the victim from Tuesday’s collision to be a 20-year old male from Seattle. The subject from Wednesday’s collision is a 55-year old male from SeaTac.
