Kent Police are investigating an early morning shooting that left a 26-year-old woman injured at the Kent Valley Motel on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024.

Officers were dispatched to 743 Central Ave. N. (map below) at 1:24 a.m. early Tuesday, after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the woman in the motel’s parking lot with gunshot wounds to her abdomen, arm, and leg. Kent officers provided emergency medical care before Puget Sound Fire personnel arrived and continued lifesaving measures.

The woman was quickly transported to a local hospital, where she is now in stable condition.

According to authorities, the suspect – believed to be known to the victim – fled the scene before officers arrived. Police detectives and patrol officers canvassed the area, collected evidence, and interviewed witnesses present during the shooting.
